It was terrible. Sitting here, looking into my drink, the thoughts ran through my head. How could I have been so naive? How could I have not noticed sooner? How could I not know!? The electric blue color started to numb my sense of sight as I stared for too long, one hand locked in my hair, messing one side up while the other still looked completely untouched. My shirt was stained with grime from the air conditioning unit that I had worked on earlier that day and my tool belt still hung on my waist. I haven't been home at all since it happened. How could I not know that I had fallen in love with her? Sitting here, looking back at the day

The day was like any other here, clouds below our feet and the sky nothing but blue, gold and silver. It's not like I hated this place, in fact I kind of liked it. My parents were high in the court and that made my sister and I pretty high in schooling. It was nice to be told that I was going to be someone's guardian someday. Watching over someone sounded like a really fun thing to do. I'm the highest in my school right now, ranking higher than even those who were about to graduate. This made my parents pretty happy with me. I'm glad I could please them so easily. My sister smiles so much that I can't help but to smile back, though sometimes

It was finally time for us to separated into pods that were to take us down to the planet below. I knew the things had been coming up, but there was no way in hell I was prepared for them. My heart rate shot up as soon as I knew I was anywhere near those things. I hated this. I really didn't want to be put into one of those things. I didn't really have a problem with the rest, the years of training, being alone unlike the rest of them, and knowing that I, for sure, wouldn't be coming back home. There was just no way in hell I would allow myself to meet my end through one of those. I'd rather be shot point blank, thank you very much! I tried
